Description

Knowle Barn is a 17th-century barn with alterations from the early 19th century and 20th century. It is timber-framed and stands on a sandstone plinth, with weatherboarding and a half-hipped tile roof. The barn has three bays aligned north to south, featuring a central threshing floor, and a further bay built of brick in the early 19th century to the south. The timber framing consists of two square panels in height, with straight tension braces. Each truss has struts to the collar.
