Description

Cadeau Cottage and Rohan Cottage is a row of three houses that have been converted into two dwellings. They date from the early 17th century, with alterations and additions made in the early 19th century and late 20th century. The buildings feature part timber framing with painted brick infill on a limestone rubble base, as well as part coursed limestone rubble, topped with a thatched roof.

The structure has five framed bays aligned north to south and includes a rebuilt external rubble chimney with a tall detached brick stack at the north gable end. There is also a chimney in the central bay with a brick stack at the front of the ridge, and an internal chimney at the south gable end with a brick ridge end stack. The cottages are single storey with an attic that has dormers.

The west front elevation displays irregular fenestration, featuring metal and wood casements set within framed panels. There are five 2-light windows and one single-light window on the ground floor, along with two eyebrow dormers that have 2-light windows. To the right, there is a 20th-century glazed door leading to Rohan Cottage, and a probable blocked original entrance in the central bay with a shaped doorhead. The entrance to Cadeau Cottage is located at the north end and features an early 19th-century flush panelled door with a plank weathering. Additionally, there is a central rear 20th-century wing and a lean-to.
