Description

This is a row of three cottages located on Church Road in Harlington. The cottages likely originated in the 17th century, but were significantly altered in the 18th and 19th centuries. The original timber-framed structure is visible at the rear, while the front elevation was either encased or entirely rebuilt in red brick, featuring flared brick headers. The roof is covered with clay tiles. The cottages were originally constructed with a three-room plan, and are two storeys in height, with various 19th-century additions to the rear. Each floor has three two-light casement windows; the ground floor windows have cambered heads. There is one part-glazed door and two plank doors, also with cambered heads. The eaves feature a cogged and dentilled brick cornice. A red brick stack serves two rooms on the right-hand side, while a yellow brick stack is integrated into the left-hand gable end. The cottages are included on the list for their contribution to the group value of the surrounding buildings.
