Description

Straw Plait is a pair of cottages that were originally one property, dating from the late 17th century and reworked in the 18th century. The structure is timber framed, with the frame exposed at the gable ends and a red brick skin in header bond on the front elevation. It has a clay tile roof and a four-room plan across two storeys. Each floor features four three-light casement windows, mostly with leaded glass, and the ground floor windows are set under cambered heads. There are two plank doors, each with flat cut-bracketed hoods above them. A red brick multiple ridge stack is present, along with a red brick external stack on the left-hand gable end.
