Description

Woodman's Cottage is a house located on Tiddesley Wood Lane, originally known as Woodman's Cottage on Defford Road. It dates back to the 17th century and has undergone later additions and alterations. The building features square-panel timber-framing with painted brick nogging and a thatched roof that is hipped to the left, complete with three eyebrow dormers and a brick ridge stack positioned to the left of center.

The exterior consists of a single storey with an attic, displaying three framed bays and an additional single-storey bay on the left beneath the roof hip. The right-hand dormer contains a two-light window with 2/2 panes and casements, while the central dormer has a similar design with side-lights. The left-hand dormer features a four-light window. On the ground floor, there are wooden chamfered-mullion windows with four and three lights, which include leaded lights and casements, though most surrounds have been renewed. A thatched porch extension is present on the right bay, featuring a four-light window, and there is a plank door with decorative hinges leading to the added left-hand bay. The right return of the building is made of whitened brick with an exposed truss in the gable, and the rear includes two full dormers.

The interior has not been inspected but is noted to have central back-to-back fireplaces and square-panelled wooden wall panelling on the ground floor.
