Description
No. 19 Newlands is a house dating from the mid-to-late 18th century, with later alterations. It is constructed of chequered red and blue brick in a Flemish bond pattern, topped with a plain tile roof featuring painted brick dogtooth eaves and brick end stacks. The house is two storeys high with a cellar, and originally had a three-window front, with a rear wing and extension. The first floor has boxed 6/6 sash windows, some retaining crown glass, with painted channelled voussoirs, keystones, and sills, as well as a brick sill band. The ground floor features two canted bay windows, each with 4/4:6/6:4/4 sash windows and pitched leaded roofs with enriched cornices. A central doorcase has an enriched leaded hood, decorative overlight, a six-panel door, and three stone steps, with a painted plinth and a blocked cellar grille on the left. The interior has not been inspected.
