Description
The Old Thatch is a house located on Perry Mill Lane in Ullenhall, dating from the 17th century. It features a rear outshut and has undergone later additions and alterations, including an extension set back to the left, constructed between 1936 and 1975. The original 17th-century section has small timber-framing with an arched brace on the left gable end, painted plaster, and painted brick infill, all topped by a steeply-pitched thatched roof.
The building is single-storey with an attic in the gable and follows a two-unit plan. The entrance on the left has a plank door with a moulded wood surround. To the right, there are two 2-light latticed casements, and there is a casement window on each gable end. An off-centre ridge stack is present, and the right gable end features small timber-framing.
Inside, the ground floor boasts chamfered beams and an inglenook fireplace with a bressumer beam, while some exposed timbering can be seen on the first floor.
