Description

Perry Mill comprises three houses, now combined into one, dating to the 17th century with 19th-century additions and renovations. The building features timber framing with reddish-brown brick nogging to the right side and return, alongside some pinkish-brown brick rebuilding in English bond to the front, all set upon a Wilmcote limestone plinth. It has a steeply pitched roof covered in old tiles and a three-unit plan with a long brick extension to the rear.

The exterior is single-storey with an attic, displaying a three-window front. The garden front features two 20th-century plank doors flanked by 20th-century casement windows, with two gabled attic dormers above. Ridge and rear stacks are present.

Inside, the central room contains a rebuilt inglenook fireplace with a renewed bressumer beam, and a 19th-century cupboard to the right – likely reusing a 16th-century pew-end originally from the Old Church of St Mary, Chapel Lane. Exposed timber framing is visible in the room to the right, alongside another inglenook fireplace with bressumer beam. Two reused six-panel doors are present.

On the first floor, the wide floorboards are complemented by exposed tie-beams and purlins. The roof structure includes three tiers of collar beams with posts between. A multi-panel plank door, probably also reused from a church, is fitted with strap hinges.
