Description

Allesborough Farmhouse is a farmhouse that likely dates back to the 15th century, with additions and alterations made in the 16th to 18th centuries and later. It is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond, featuring a stone chimney and a timber-framed wing at the rear. The roof is covered with plain tiles and has brick dentilled or dogtooth eaves.

The main southeast elevation shows two storeys with two windows on each floor. The windows are tripartite horned sashes in a 1/1:2/2:1/1 configuration, set beneath gauged brick flat arches with painted keystones and sills. The ground floor window to the right has been replaced with a central French window. There is a round-arched doorcase to the right of centre, which includes panelled reveals, a radial fanlight, and a four-panel part-glazed door.

On the left side, there is a large timber-framed wing that is pebbledashed, featuring a roof dormer and ridge stacks at the centre and end, along with replacement casement windows and two wide doorcases. This wing has a stone plinth and a gable end. At the left end, there is a smaller single-storey brick wing from the 19th century with a hipped tile roof, dogtooth eaves, and two segmental-arched 8/8 sashes. The right side features a timber-framed wing with brick nogging and an attached single-storey extension that includes a chimney.

The interior has not been inspected. Historically, this farmhouse is noted as a successor to the Abbot's demesne farm and was part of the abbey estates as recorded in a survey from 1620.
