Description

Allesborough Farmhouse Barn is a 17th-century barn that has been altered over time. It features square-panel timber-framing with passing braces and brick nogging, along with weather-boarded upper gable ends and a stone plinth. The roof is covered with plain tiles and has a half-hipped design. The barn consists of 10 bays. On the south side, there are opposing double-doors on the right and a plank double-door at the left end, which used to have an opposing door that is now bricked up. There is also a loading door and a weather-vane on the west gable. Inside, the trusses include tie-beams, king posts, struts, and some queen posts, along with two tiers of purlins.
