Barn About 10 Yards North-East Of Cadeau Cottage And Rohan Cottage

This barn, located about 10 yards north-east of Cadeau Cottage and Rohan Cottage, dates back to the 17th century and has undergone some alterations in the late 20th century. It features a combination of timber framing with brick infill on a limestone rubble base, as well as sections made entirely of limestone rubble, topped with a plain tiled roof. The barn is arranged in four bays running north to south, with a wagon bay in the third bay from the north end that has opposing cart entries; the eastern entry is blocked, while the western side has double doors. The framing consists of two rows of square panels extending from the sill to the wall-plate, with the end walls made of rubble. On the east side of the north bay, there are two windows. Inside, the roof includes three replacement king-post trusses and two tiers of trenched purlins. The barn is situated between Cadeau Cottage and Rohan Cottage, contributing to the group value of the area.
