Description

The coach house to Rose Place, located about 23 meters to the north-west, dates from the mid-19th century. It is constructed of brick with stone dressings and features a plain clay tiled hipped roof. The building is a single storey with an attic and has a moulded eaves cornice at the front, along with a dentilled eaves cornice on the sides and rear.

The coach house consists of three bays, with the central bay projecting forward. This bay has an implied open pediment above a large lunette window set in a raised surround, which includes radiating glazing. At ground floor level, there is a central door with an 8-pane transom light and square multi-pane windows on either side, all featuring gauged flat heads and stone keyblocks. The flanking bays have wide, round-arched openings with stone keyblocks and imposts; the left archway is blocked, while the right archway originally had double doors and a panelled segmental infill with a radiating design above. At the center of the roof ridge, there is an open octagonal lantern on a square base.

Inside, the coach house retains a double purlin roof with a king-post truss. The ground floor features a brick floor, vertically boarded timber, and wrought-iron stalls, troughs, and a vertical feed rack that are linked to the hayloft above.
