Description
The coach house, dating from the early to mid 19th century, is located in the grounds of the Rectory on the north side of High Street in Yatton. It is constructed of rubble with limestone dressings and features a two-span pantiled roof with raised coped verges and kneelers, along with a ball finial on the front left gable.
The east front showcases two 4-centred arched carriage entries, each framed by two hollow mouldings on the right, with double doors that have decorative strap hinges. There is a 2-light casement window with ovolo mullions at the first floor. To the left, there is a similar 2-light casement and a studded door with strap hinges in a matching surround, complemented by a buttress on the right.
At the rear, the right block features a 4-pane light with a segmental head at ground floor level and a cross-loop in the gable end. The left block is longer and projects outward, containing a 2-light casement in a wooden frame with a segmental head at ground floor, along with three single lights at the first floor, the central one being taller, all with segmental heads. Each side has six panes, while the central light has nine panes of plate glass.
Additionally, there is a wall that extends about 4 metres to the left, serving as a garden wall, which stands approximately 5 metres high. The interior has not been inspected.
