Description
No. 117 Sidbury is a house that has been converted into a shop. It was built in the early 19th century and has undergone some later additions and alterations, including a shop front added in the late 19th century. The building is constructed of colourwashed brick in Flemish bond and features a plain tile roof. There is a pinkish-brown brick stack at the right rear, which has an oversailing course and pots.
The exterior of the building is three storeys high and has one window on the first floor. The first and second floors each have two 2/2 sash windows set in plain reveals with sills. The eaves are decorated with modillion cornicing. The ground floor features a shop front with plate glass windows, ornamental corbels, and a blind box, which includes the entrance on the right. This entrance is a recessed, part-glazed door topped with an overlight.
The interior has not been inspected. This property is a modest and relatively unaltered example from its period and is located next to The Barley Mow Public House.
