Description
No. 1 Love's Grove is a house, now used as offices, built around 1820 to 1850 with later alterations. The building is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond and features a hipped slate roof with rear lateral stacks that have oversailing courses and pots. It has a central hallway and a double-depth plan with a shallow rear range. The house is three storeys high and has three first-floor windows.
On the first floor, there is a 6/6 sash window situated between two 8/8 sash windows. The second floor features a 3/3 sash window between two 4/4 sash windows, while the ground floor has outer 8/8 sash windows. All windows are set in plain reveals with flat arches made of gauged brick and have sills. The central entrance consists of a raised and fielded panel door with a fanlight that has radial glazing bars, all in plain reveals and framed by a tooled, round-arched architrave. The building has an eaves cornice.
The right return of the building has two first-floor windows, with one being a blind opening and the other a 6/6 sash. The second floor has blind openings, and the ground floor has 6/6 sashes. There are X-tie-rod ends visible at the first and second-floor levels. The interior has not been inspected.
