Description

These are two houses, numbers 2 and 3 Love's Grove, dating from around 1820 to 1850. They were built in the Georgian style and designed to appear as a single dwelling. The houses are constructed of red brick with a hipped roof covered in plain tiles. Two brick stacks, one at the front and one at the rear, rise from the roof, featuring an oversailing course and decorative pots.

The houses are three storeys high, with three windows on the first floor. A continuous band of carved modillions runs along the eaves. The central window on each floor is a blind feature, shared between the two houses. The ground and first floors have windows with 8/8 sashes, while the second floor has 4/8 sashes. All windows are set in plain reveals and have sills and flat arches constructed of gauged brick. A 4-panel door with an overlight is located on the far right. A central entrance on the left return features a fielded-panel door, a fanlight with radial glazing bars, and a pilastered doorcase with an open pediment. To the left of this entrance is a near-flush-frame sash window with 8/8 glazing. The first and second floors each have a central near-flush-frame sash window with 6/6 glazing, all with elliptical arches above and sills. The interior of the houses has not been inspected.
