Description

No. 30 Henwick Road is the left-hand house of a row of adjoining properties, built in the early 19th century with later additions and alterations. The building is constructed of orange-red brick with stucco details and features a slate roof that is hipped to the left. It has central stacks on both the front and rear roof slopes, which include oversailing detail and pots. The entrance is marked by a timber doorcase.

The layout is double-depth with a central entrance hall, and the building has three storeys and a basement. There are two windows on the first floor. The stucco detailing includes sills and reveals, and the eaves are soffited. The window on the ground floor to the left is a 2/2 sash, while the other windows are 6/6 sashes; all except the second-floor windows are set under cambered arches. The right side of the ground floor features a 6-pane small shop-type window, which has short pilasters, console brackets, and a fascia, with a brick panel below. A stone step leads up to the five-panel entrance door, which has flush-beaded bottom panels and raised and fielded panels above. The doorcase includes pilasters, a frieze, and a cornice. The left return of the building has two 6/6 sash windows. The rear windows are similar to those on the facade, but the sashes are in near-flush frames with architraves, and there is a replacement 20th-century metal frame on the ground floor to the right.

The interior has not been inspected.
