Description

This is an early 19th-century house, originally built as part of a terrace in several phases. It is constructed of brindled brick with stucco dressings, and has a hipped roof covered with handmade plain clay tiles, partially hidden by a coped parapet. A stack with pots and overhanging details is located on the left side. The building has a single-depth plan turned at a right angle to the road, and the entrance is offset to the right, aligning with Number 44. The facade is similar to Number 44, but narrower and lower. The house is three storeys high with a basement. It features a single first-floor window. Stucco detailing includes sills and channeled wedge lintels with keystones. The windows are mostly 8-pane sashes, except for those on the second floor which are 4-pane sashes; all are nearly flush. The entrance door is six-panelled, with the bottom pair being flush-beaded and the remainder raised and fielded, within a doorcase featuring an open pediment and panelled pilasters on fluted plinths.
