Description
The granary, located about 100 metres south-west of Trotshill Farmhouse, dates from the late 17th century. It features a timber-frame construction with some brick and wattle-and-daub infill, raised on staddle stones, and has a half-hipped tile roof with a square plan. The entrance is on the west wall, which includes a 17th-century door with decorative strap hinges and a circular cat door, along with a small window in the north wall. The framing consists of three rectangular panels high with straight tension braces. Inside, the floor joist is ovolo moulded and bears a date inscription, likely indicating a reuse of the beam, reading "[B B] OAB ANO 1660," where the first two letters could be either R or B.
