Description

This is a late 18th-century house, now used as a shop and gallery, located on Sidbury in Worcester. The front façade is stuccoed over brick, while the rest of the building is constructed of reddish-brown brick in English bond, with a plain tile roof and a left-hand brick stack featuring an oversailing course and decorative pots. Purple brick arches define the returns.

The building is three storeys high, with two windows on the first floor. The first floor has 8/8 sash windows, the second floor has 4/4 sash windows, all set in plain reveals with sills and flat, voussoired arches. A late 19th-century shop front is located on the left, featuring end pilasters, a panelled apron, turned modillions, plate glass windows, and a part-glazed door with overlight. Double planked doors are present on the right side and at the end, alongside a pilaster. A continuous frieze and cornice run along the shop front.

The right return features two full-height, shallow recesses with cambered arches on the ground floor. A three-course band defines the first floor, above which is a tall, round-arched, shallow recess. A rear range extends from the main building.

The interior retains some original joinery on the ground floor, although the rest of the property was not inspected.

Number 32 forms a group with numbers 26-34 (even) on Sidbury and numbers 2-16 (consecutive) on Edgar Street.
