Description
No. 47 High Street is a house dating from the late 18th century, with alterations made in the mid-19th and mid-20th centuries. It is constructed of painted brick and features a plain tiled roof with a ridge stack at the right end. The building has two storeys and an attic, topped with a dentilled eaves cornice.
The front facade consists of three bays, including two multi-paned bow windows on the ground floor and two 12-pane sash windows on the first floor, with a blind central window above. The central entrance is adorned with a flat canopy, a moulded architrave, and a 20th-century door. The right gable end, which faces The Square on the south side, has two 12-pane sash windows on both the ground and first floors, along with an attic light, all featuring cambered heads. There is also a 18th-century wing at the rear right of the house.
