Description

Mayberries Farmhouse and the attached barn are located in Bayton and date back to the 17th century, with some alterations made in the mid-19th century. The farmhouse is timber-framed, featuring painted brick and rendered infill, along with brick replacement walling and additions, topped with a plain tiled roof. It consists of a single framed bay that runs east to west and has a rear external brick chimney. The building is one storey with an attic and includes a dormer. The south front elevation displays a ground floor three-light casement window, a gabled dormer with a two-light casement, and a ledged and battened door to the left. The interior has not been inspected.

At the back, there is a single-storey wing that is partly timber-framed and partly brick, which encloses the rear chimney. Additionally, a two-storey brick addition is attached to the east gable end, featuring a ground floor three-light casement and a first floor two-light casement on the south front elevation.

The barn is timber-framed and sits on a rubble plinth, with weatherboarding and a plain tiled roof that continues the main roofline. It also consists of a single framed bay, although the framing is not visible from the outside. There is a ledged and battened door on the south elevation, and the interior has not been inspected.
