Description
No 1 Church Street is an early 20th-century building designed by architect J A Gotch. It features one tall storey constructed from channelled, rusticated ashlar, topped with a balustraded parapet that is interrupted by a central pediment. The façade consists of four bays, with the outer bays showcasing cartouches above a door and a window, while the two central bays contain round-headed windows with console keystones, all situated beneath the pediment. These windows are separated by paired plain attached half-columns, and there is a string course at the cills. The building stands on a tall plinth, and the doorway on the left is adorned with attached half-columns and a segmental pediment. This building is included for its group value.
