Description
The electricity junction box, dating from the early 20th century, was manufactured by Hardy and Padmore of Worcester. It is made of cast iron and has a square shape.
Located on St Ann's Road near the junction with Worcester Road, the junction box features a low pyramidal cap with castellated edges above a moulded cornice, which is supported at each corner by an inward-scrolled corbel. Both the front and rear of the box have a door with a moulded surround, two decorative strap hinges on the right side, and a Jacobean-style geometric strapwork relief that is detailed in gold paint. The two sides are plain with moulded edges and each has a circular relief that reads ‘Hardy and Padmore Limited, Worcester'. The box is mounted on a square base with panelled sides.
