Description
Nos 10, 10A, and 12 on Worcester Road were built between 1819 and 1823 by Samuel and John Deykes and originally served as the Coburg Baths. This three-storey building is finished in stucco and topped with slate roofs. The main block, No 12, features a cornice and a balustraded parapet, along with two dormers. It has three windows on the upper floors, which are hung sashes with glazing bars and round heads on the first floor. The ground floor showcases a central rusticated round-headed doorway flanked by fluted Doric half-columns, with plate glass shop windows and plain pilasters between the windows that support a frieze decorated with wreath ornamentation. The side blocks also have balustraded parapets and wreaths. The frieze and pilaster design continues along the ground floor of No 10, which has a gabled first floor with three small sash windows and a round-headed doorway.
