Description
This is a row of houses located at 24-30 Berrington Road, dating from the 17th century but refronted in the late 18th century, with some alterations made in the mid- to late 20th century. The houses are timber-framed with brick and rendered infill, featuring a painted brick facade and replacement walling. They have a slate roof with brick stacks at the ends and rear. The row consists of five framed bays that are roughly aligned east to west and stands two storeys high, topped with a dentilled eaves cornice. The original framing included three panels from the sill to the wall-plate with some short straight upper corner braces, although now only small sections of this framing are visible on the exterior. The south front elevation has seven ground floor cross-casements with cambered heads, five first floor two-light casements, and three half-glazed 20th-century doors, also with cambered heads.
