Description

Nos 10, 11 and 12 form a row of three houses dating to the 17th century, with alterations made in the mid-19th century and late 20th century. The houses are timber-framed with painted brick infill on a rubble base, faced in roughcast, with painted brick and rubble additions. The roofs are stone-tiled, laid in diminishing courses, raised to the front. A large rendered stack is positioned on the front ridge, a brick stack appears to the rear left of the ridge, and an external painted brick stack with offsets is at the north end. The houses are arranged over two storeys and consist of four bays aligned north/south, with a single-bay addition to the south end. Framing is exposed at the north end, exhibiting three panels from sill to wall-plate, with a collar and tie-beam truss incorporating struts and V-struts above the collar. The east front has 2-light casement windows; six are at ground floor level and five at first floor. No. 10 has a 20th-century half-glazed door with a lean-to canopy supported by shaped brackets. No. 11 features a 19th-century gabled timber porch on a tall painted brick base, and a ledged and battened door. No. 12 has a 20th-century single-storey addition to the north end, with a 2-light and a single-light casement, and the main entrance, which has a glazed door.
