Description

Court Cottage is an outbuilding that has been converted into four houses, likely dating from the early 18th century and converted in the late 20th century. The structure is timber-framed with rendered infill resting on a rubble base, and it features a partly rendered exterior with a machine-tiled roof. The building consists of seven framed bays aligned east to west and stands two storeys tall. The framing includes mainly three rows of panels from the sill to the wall-plate, with short straight braces in some upper corners. At the east end, there is an exposed collar and tie-beam truss with struts and a V-strut above the collar. The windows are 20th-century casements, with the north elevation showcasing fourteen two-light windows and two single-light windows on the ground floor, as well as fourteen two-light windows on the first floor. There is also one partly-glazed 20th-century door. The building is prominently located at the south end of the village and is included for its group value.
