Description
Longmore Hill Barn is a former stable, dovecote, and cowhouse dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of coursed, dressed red sandstone and features tiled roofs. The building forms part of an axial group that defines the eastern boundary of the farmyard.
The stable is a single-storey structure with a central entrance flanked by a window on either side. It has simple, slightly cambered stone lintels, and the windows show traces of a former wooden frame with closely spaced mullions.
The dovecote is located centrally between the stable and the cowhouse and is two storeys high with a hipped roof. It has dormers on each face that contain remnants of openings for entry. There is a doorway above ground level to the left, while the ground floor features one window and one doorway to the right, all with cambered stone lintels.
The cowhouse is a single-storey building with an entrance on the right and two windows to the left, also featuring cambered stone lintels throughout.
