Description

The combined dovecote, cartshed, stable, and cowhouse at Moor Farm, dated 1806, is a large farm building located to the northwest of the yard. It features a dovecote above a cartshed, with a former stable on the left and cowhouses on the right. The building is constructed of brick with a tiled roof and consists of a long single range that is mostly single storey with a loft. Near the center is a two-storey square section housing the dovecote, which has a hipped roof topped with a glazed lantern, a pyramidal roof, and a ball finial. The dovecote includes internal perch holes in the brickwork.

The cartshed has a large segmental-headed archway with double doors. The former stable, now a small hunting room, is on the left and features a plank door flanked by two 2-light windows, all with cambered heads. On the right side, there are similar openings, including three windows and two openings leading to the cowhouse, which has wooden mangers at the rear. The left-hand return of the building has a flight of 14 stone steps on a brick base leading to a loft door, with a small arched opening below the platform and a probable kennel hole beneath the steps, marked by a stone lintel. The building bears the initials W D M on a diagonally set square stone on the dovecote.
