Description
The barn located to the northeast of Packthorne Farmhouse is an early 18th-century structure that also incorporates a milking parlour. It is built from brick and features a tiled roof. The barn has an L-shaped layout, with the milking parlour situated to the northeast. The western section of the barn consists of four bays, supported by arch-braced tie beams and collar trusses. There is a large, flush gabled cart entry at the inner angle, which has a steep gable with vertical boarding and a pair of timber doors, although the left door is damaged. There is also an opposed flush entry. The southeast gable end is adorned with seven rows of dove perches above two brick strings on the exterior, along with slit vents located below. The opposite gable end also features slit vents. The parlour end has been modernised.
