Description

The Brewer Monument, located about 10 meters south of the priest's door in the churchyard of the Church of St. Andrew, is a large pedestal tomb enclosed by railings. It commemorates Hannah Brewer, who passed away in 1810. The monument is made of sandstone and features a concave cap with a gadrooned top and a long finial that is intricately carved with leaves. The edge of the cap is reeded, and it rests on a tall moulded plinth above a plain base, which is surrounded by plain railings. The ends of the monument are indented and have recessed rectangular panels, with simple foliage drops on the returns. The entire structure has a plain lozenge frieze, while the sides display raised plain ovals adorned with draped leaf reliefs.
