Description

The Three King Monuments, located about 11 meters south of the porch in the churchyard of the Church of St. Andrew, consist of a chest tomb and two headstones to the southwest. The chest tomb belongs to Samuel King and dates from 1777. It is made of limestone and features a tent top with gadroon moulded capping and a moulded plinth on a large base. The tomb has projecting corner scrolls, plain end panels, and moulded ovals on the sides. The headstone for Joshua King, dating from 1729, is to the south, while the unidentified headstone, likely from the early 18th century, is to the north. At the time of the survey in January 1986, both headstones were in very good condition and featured two large cherubs' heads in high relief. The headstone for Joshua King also includes a swag with a book and skull, while the unidentified headstone has a cartouche.
