Description

Burf Cottage is a late 18th-century house. It is constructed of painted brick with an unusual bond pattern and has a hipped tiled roof. The house is arranged with two rooms in depth and includes a central stack incorporating the staircase. It has two storeys and a cellar, and features a dentilled eaves cornice. The facade has three bays, with twelve-pane box frame sash windows set flush to the front, and stone sills. The central doorway is topped by an open pediment with modillions, supported on plain pilasters, and has a partly glazed 20th-century door. The rear returns have one blind bay and later inserted windows to the second bay. A brick stable block at the rear has been converted into a dwelling.
