Description

The building is a dovecote located approximately ten metres south of Manor Farm House, dating from around 1800. It serves as a cartshed and stable or byre, with the dovecote situated above. The lower part is constructed from coursed cobble and sandstone rubble, while the upper section is made of red brick laid in English garden wall bond. The roof is covered with pantiles and the structure is square in plan, consisting of two storeys and one bay.

The front features a board sliding door with a long timber lintel on the right side. At the loft level, there is a vented band of open brickwork. Above this, a semicircular recessed panel contains doveholes and landing platforms. On the left side, there is a cart opening with a long timber lintel, which has been closed off with a large-pane window. Above this, there is a similar dovehole panel in the gable end. The ground floor corner between the front and left return is canted, supporting the jettied upper floor. The right return is partly obscured by a one-storey range of outbuildings that encloses a ground floor stable door and a small plank door leading to the loft. The range of outbuildings is not considered to be of special interest.
