Description

The granary, cow house, and barn at Newhouse Farm are structures dating from the mid-18th century, with some alterations made in the mid-19th century. They are built from brick and topped with plain tiled roofs.

The granary features two levels and three bays. On the main south elevation, the ground floor has two 2-light casement windows with cambered heads, along with a ledged and battened door that includes a transom light and a narrow rectangular light to the right. There is also a loft door with a winch and pulley located at the west gable end.

The cow house is likely a 19th-century lean-to addition that is attached to the right side of the granary's south elevation. It is a single-storey structure with three bays, containing two windows, one door, and two stable doors on the south elevation.

The barn is positioned at a right angle to both the granary and cow house, with its northernmost bay adjoining the east end of the cow house. Only two bays remain of the original three. The barn features a wagon bay to the south with opposing cart entries, and it retains double doors on the west side. The east side has been infilled with brick and corrugated iron, and it includes some header ventilation courses, as well as a multi-paned metal window in the south gable end. There is also a lean-to addition on the east elevation.
