Description
Cadmore is a 17th-century house, possibly built on an earlier site, and was restored in the late 20th century. It features a timber-framed structure with rendered infill resting on a rubble base, topped by a plain tiled roof. The house has two framed bays aligned north to south and includes an external rubble chimney with a tall detached brick stack at the north end. It is a single storey with an attic that has dormers.
The framing consists of three panels from the sill to the wall-plate, with short straight braces across the upper corners, and collar and tie-beam trusses that include struts and V-struts above the collar. The east entrance elevation has all 20th-century leaded casement windows, including four square windows on the ground floor, a square stair window, and a gabled dormer featuring a three-light window. The main entrance, located at the north end, has a 20th-century flat canopy supported by shaped brackets and a 20th-century door.
There is a single-storey addition at the north end in front of the chimney, which has a square and a rectangular window on its east elevation, as well as a large two-storey addition to the southwest. Inside, it is reported that the framing has all survived, along with a large fireplace. The house is believed to be situated on the site of an earlier rubble building.
