Description

Sunnycroft is a house dating from the early 19th century, representing a rebuilding of an earlier structure with mid-20th century alterations. It is constructed of handmade brick, with smaller areas of rubble walling on a rubble base, and has a plain tiled roof with a rebuilt brick stack to the left of the front roof slope. The house is two storeys high with two bays. The style is Gothick. Windows have metal casements composed of three pointed lights beneath a square head; the central lights have square panes while the outer lights feature diamond panes and latticed glazing bars, with traceried glazing bars in the heads of the lights. A central pointed archway provides access to the front entrance, which has a 20th-century half-glazed door and 19th-century traceried glazing in the arched head. Rubble walling from an earlier building, likely part of a former chimney, is visible in the left bay and forms part of the current chimney. Two similar Gothick style windows are located at the right gable end, one on each floor. A 20th-century addition extends from the rear of the building.
