Description
Wilden is a farmhouse dating from the 17th century, with a cross-wing that was added or rebuilt in the 18th century, along with late 19th-century alterations and further changes in the 20th century. The building features sandstone rubble refacing or rebuilding, a timber-framed rear wing with some brick infill, and a sandstone rubble plinth and stacks topped with brick shafts. It has a Welsh slate roof and a T-shaped plan, with the earlier wing aligned northeast to southwest and the later wing added at the northeast end.
The entrance is located at the center of the northeast front, which has a gable-end and axial stacks. The farmhouse is two storeys high, with attics and cellars. The northeast front includes three tripartite plain sash windows set in altered openings, and a central doorway with a plain porch and a half-glazed door. Inside, there is a late 17th-century staircase featuring turned balusters, moulded handrails, and square newels, as well as splat balusters leading to the attic flight. The earlier wing at the rear has chamfered ceiling beams.
