Description

This barn, located about 20 metres west of Tan House Farmhouse, dates from the late 17th century and was extended in the early 18th century, with some repairs made in the late 20th century. It features a timber frame that is weatherboarded and has a tiled roof. The barn is L-shaped, consisting of four framed bays that extend to the south-west, with a threshing floor located in the bay north of the centre. There is also an earlier range that extends to the north-west. The framing of the earlier range includes two struts to the collar of each truss, while the other range has two raking struts without a collar. The wall frames are one rectangular panel high and feature straight tension braces. This barn is included for its group value.
