Description
No 187 on Hagley Road, located at the corner with Monument Road, is an early to mid 19th century coach house. It features a stucco facade, although it was likely originally built from red brick. The building was altered for use as a bank in the early 20th century and restored with Georgian or Regency details. It has a splayed corner and a hipped slate roof with a shallow eaves band. The first floor includes glazing bar sash windows set in architrave surrounds with entablatures. There is a long return along Monument Road and a large moulded framed panel at the corner. The ground floor consists of pilastered banking premises with a corner entrance. This building is part of an important group value with Nos 169 to 183.
