Description
The Midland Bank, located in Minehead on Wellington Square, is a house with shops that has been converted into a bank. It was built around 1850 and features painted stucco on its exterior, with a hipped and bracketed slate roof and brick stacks positioned to the right and rear. The building has an irregular L-shaped plan and stands three storeys tall, presenting a symmetrical four-window range. The ground floor showcases banded rustication, while banded pilasters adorn all four corners of the upper floors. The upper floors feature late 19th-century horned two-over-two pane sash windows with flat arches, while the ground floor windows are made of plate glass. The returns of the building, which have four windows on the ground floor, feature segmental arches. The centrally located front door is topped with a shallow hood supported by consoles. The interior has not been inspected.
