SS9646 THE PARADE 900-1/3/87 (South side) 15/07/94 No.8 Offices to the corner of The Parade and Bancks Street

Offices. c1870. Snecked rubblestone with ashlar dressings and slate roof with rubblestone stacks to right gable end, ridge and left front slope. Rectangular plan. Gothic Revival style. 2 storeys with attics; 3-window range. Sash windows with trefoil heads to the upper sashes and 2 vertical glazing bars to each sash. The central range rises to a gabled half dormer. The door to the left has a labelled hoodmould over a frieze of 4 trefoil-headed panels and a pointed arch to the set-back door. To the centre and right are tall pointed arches over trefoil-headed plate glass shop windows. The left return in Bancks Street has a similar central half-dormer flanked by gables with similar windows over 4 to the first floor; 5 shop windows to the ground floor are similar to the those at the front. INTERIOR not inspected.
