Description

This is an early 19th century terrace of four houses located on Monument Road in Ladywood. The houses are built of stucco with a slate roof. They are three storeys high and each house has two bays. The ground floor features banded rustication and the doors and windows are arranged in a repeating pattern: a door, a window, a smaller door, a window, a pair of doors and windows, another smaller door, a window, and finally a door. The front doors are raised and flanked by pilasters with leaf brackets supporting the entablatures. Arched subsidiary doors provide access to the rear of the terrace. The windows are set in moulded frames, and the ground floor windows feature cornices on brackets. Giant pilasters run the full height of the building, spanning the subsidiary doors. The first floor has eight windows within moulded surrounds, while the second floor has eight windows with three panes to each sash. Most windows have glazing bars.
