Description

99 Bristol Road is a detached villa built around 1830-1840. It stands two stories tall and is set back from the road on a hill, sharing a long driveway with No. 103. The exterior is finished in stucco and was originally designed with three bays, although the two northern bays were added later in the same style. The villa features a hipped slate roof with flat bracketed eaves and corniced stucco chimneys.

The first floor windows still have their original glazing bar sashes and are framed with architraves that are decorated with pendants shaped like hearts. On the ground floor, there are two original glazing bar sash windows. The extension includes a canted bay window from around 1900, along with a three-light casement window of the same period, both set beneath an earlier drip mould.

The entrance is located to the left and features an attractive porch with a tent roof supported by scrolled iron standards. This porch is accessed by steps that run at right angles, and the scroll-ornamented cast iron balusters end in anthemion crested standards, which also have anthemion decoration on the panels. The entrance door is a four-panel design with a rectangular fanlight above, and it has panelled reveals and soffit. There is also a rear service wing and yard.
