Description

1 Speedwell Road is a Grade II listed detached villa located in Edgbaston, dating from around 1840 to 1850. This two-storey building features a symmetrical three-bay front with a plinth and a plat band. It has a hipped slate roof with flat eaves and tall red brick chimneys on either side. The sash windows are set within eared architrave surrounds, which include small consoles supporting the sills. The entrance is approached by a flight of four steps and features a doorway flanked by pedestals and pilasters, topped with a deep entablature that has a dentil string and a moulded cornice. The door itself is panelled and includes rectangular fanlights. There is an altered coach house on the left side of the property.
