Description
Nos 211 and 213 on Bristol Road are a pair of semi-detached red brick villas built around 1830-1840. They are two storeys high and have three bays each. The villas feature a common hipped slate roof with flat eaves and corniced brick chimneys. There is a stucco sill band on the first floor, which has revealed glazing bar sash windows topped with gauged rubber brick arches.
The ground floor of No 211 has later 19th-century stucco rectangular bay windows that are pilastered and feature an entablature, enclosing an archivolt arched porch. In contrast, No 213 retains its original ground floor sash windows. The porch of No 213 is made of cast and wrought iron, with double standards featuring an interlinked circle pattern, a Greek key fret on the frieze, and acroteria on the cornice. The revealed doorway is set under a rubber brick arch on imposts, flanked by flattened columns and topped with an archivolt arched fanlight that has a cast iron acanthus leaf fan against the light. There is a flight of steps leading up to the door.
