Description
This is a circa 1840 semi-detached pair of two-storey stucco-faced houses, located on Bristol Road and including No 73 Sir Harry's Road. The houses have a two-bay front to Bristol Road and a seven-bay return to Sir Harry's Road. They are covered by a hipped slate roof with shallow flat eaves on a moulded bed above a plain frieze.
No 181 has glazing bar sash windows in architraves. A rectangular bay window was inserted to the right of the ground floor around 1900. The front door features six panels, a rectangular fanlight, and is set within a broad stucco surround with consoles to a moulded heavy cornice and pediment-blocking course.
The return frontage to Sir Harry’s Road has similar fenestration, except that one first floor window is a rectangular pilastered bay with glazing bar lights. A doorway is located in the third bay from the corners, and the front of the building bends back slightly from this bay.
