Description
No 8 Sir Harry's Road is a detached red brick villa built between 1850 and 1855. It stands two storeys high and features a symmetrical front with three bays and sharp stucco details. To the northwest, there is a slightly recessed, stepped-down two-bay wing that does not contain a gig house. The main front has a plinth and rusticated stucco quoins, with a two-storey stuccoed canted bay on either side of the center. The frieze and boxed eaves project slightly over the bays, and the roof is slate with hips, complemented by flanking corniced chimney stacks. The central first-floor window has an eared architrave surround. The entrance features a panelled door with a rectangular fanlight, set within an architrave surround supported by consoles that hold up a bracketed cornice. The ground floor of the wing has a console bracketed cornice above the window next to the gig house doors.
