Description
Nos 15 and 19 on Mallory Road are a pair of timber-framed cottages dating from around 1600, which were modernised in the 20th century. The cottages have been extended by one bay to the east and stand on a tall sandstone plinth. The infill panels are made of painted brick, while the later bay is also of painted brick. The cottages feature a steeply pitched plain tile roof with gabled ends and are one storey high with an attic, presenting a six-window range. There are two doors and adjoining rectangular oriel bay windows beneath lean-to roofs. The design includes two splayed oriel windows and two one-light casements. Six gabled dormers are present, with the central four featuring four-light mullion/transom casements, while the two end dormers have two and three-light casements. All windows are fitted with glazing bars. There are two brick ridge chimney stacks, and the later bay to the east includes a flat arched vehicle entrance with wooden doors.
